It's Real!

On November 4th, I had to register for Ironman Florida.  I was at Dan and Mere's to snuggle my sweet Wyatt, so I was nervous I would miss it because I was in a different time zone.  Not only was I nervous about that, but it was also Day Light Savings time change, so there was a lot of room for error.  Registration opened at 1 pm EST.  At noon, Mere and I were eating lunch.  A text from Cindy got me all nervous and I checked the registration page and there was a regsiter now link.  I completely freaked out thinking I missed it.  Once I realized I was still ok, I tried to calm down.  Audrey, Cindy and I exchanged texts that I calmed me down, not so sure about Audrey.  At 12:57 I laid out any possible card I might need to register.  At 1:00, I hit refresh about 50 times before it let me in.  My hands were shaking so bad I could barely type.  I flew through the form and only answered the questions that I absolutely had to.  By 1:04, it was over and I was in.  About 30 second later I got a text from Audrey that she got in too.  I have never been so relieved.  Dan handed me a beer and I drank it in about 5 minutes all while sqeeling and taking deep breaths.

Today, November 13th, I got the confirmation from the condo we rented that they had received our deposit.  It is all starting to feel real.

Less than a year from now, I hope to hear "Kat Karban, You are an Ironman!"
